JOB DESCRIPTION

POST TITLE: Exchequer Services Assistant

RESPONSIBLE TO: Procurement, Contracts & Exchequer Manager

SALARY: Grade C - £18,426

(pro-rata for TTO plus 5 days)

JOB PURPOSE: To carry out exchequer functions for the Trust including undertaking financial assessments, raising orders, processing invoices and the collection of any debt owed.

Main Responsibilities

• To process requisitions received from schools, ensuring they are properly completed and authorised and to ensure an order is raised in the Trust's financial system for each transaction.

• To process invoices for payment accurately and on a timely basis.

• To demand, collect and recover monies owed to the Trust.

• To carry out the above duties in accordance with the Trust's Financial Regulations and procedures and in accordance with deadlines set out in the Trust's monthly financial management timetable and agreed key performance indicators.

• To create and update new suppliers on the Trust's financial system, ensuring details are accurate, no duplicate records exist and that any updates are verified to maintain robust counter fraud arrangements.

• To deal professionally with enquiries and queries from suppliers and debtors and their representatives whether face to face, by telephone or letter.

• To handle and process data ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and security of the data including adherence to the Data Protection Act (or relevant legislation).

• To undertake any other duties as required commensurate with the post.

These duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities, which the COO/HOF may determine.
