The Company:

Global by Nature Ltd is the UK arm of Global by Nature Pty Ltd, Australia, a fast-growing, independent business responsible for the import, distribution, B2B and B2C sales of premium natural health products; including Synergy Natural and Sunwarrior. As the exclusive distributor for several brands, the business is also responsible for sales and marketing of these in the UK.

The Department:

The small Finance team of two provide a full accounting service to all stakeholders within the company, working with the owner, directors and management to deliver first class accounting, reporting, planning and compliance. Also working with the teams in Sales, Marketing and the Warehouse to ensure income and expenditure is well controlled, company assets are safeguarded, budgets are well constructed and then properly managed. You will be reporting directly to the Financial Director.

The Job: The Person:

The ideal person for this job role will be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic company, in a busy Accounts department whilst working closely with colleagues in Sales, Marketing and the Warehouse.

The role will be focussed on the day to day running of the core accounting areas of the finance department including purchase ledger, payments, sales ledger, credit control, receipts, bank reconciliations, PDQ credit card reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.

Particular emphasis will be placed on day to date control, reconciliation and reporting of the main bank account, of the sales ledger and of the purchase ledger ensuring that the company's customers make payment on time and also to ensure that the company's suppliers are paid on time ; therefore the candidate must demonstrate significant attention to detail.

Experience of working within a sales, marketing and distribution business would be ideal. The company's financial year runs from January to December in twelve calendar month periods. The ideal person should also be methodical and demonstrate excellent attention to detail with solid experience in Accounts. They will have a systematic approach to their work and be able to work as part of a team and also with minimal supervision. They will also be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

Experience using a fully integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system with Accounts, Sales, Purchasing & Stock modules. First Class Excel skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word/Outlook is required. The ideal person will also have excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in order to communicate with internal and external teams and build effective working relationships.

Personal interest in a natural health lifestyle would be a big plus.

The Detail: The main areas of responsibility for this job are:
  1. To have full responsibility for the accounting of the purchase ledger, all payments, direct debits, standing orders, supplier statement reconciliations.
  2. To have full responsibility for the accounting of the sales ledger, all invoices, credit notes, receipts and customer statement reconciliations.
  3. To perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and ensure the purchase ledger accounts are up to date and accurate on a monthly basis,
  4. To ensure the purchase ledger is closed on a timely basis each period and that it reconciles with the nominal ledger creditors control account,
  5. To perform monthly customer statement reconciliations and ensure the sales ledger accounts are up to date and accurate on a monthly basis,
  6. To reconcile the company bank accounts on a weekly basis,
  7. To reconcile Barclays Merchant services control account on a monthly basis,
  8. To reconcile debtor control accounts on a monthly basis,
  9. To liaise as appropriate with the company's bankers and other 3rd party financial service providers including Barclays Merchant services,
  10. To ensure that petty cash, company credit card expenses and personal expenses are processed on a timely basis each month,
  11. To provide administrative support to other department's including Sales, Marketing and the Warehouse departments as required.
  12. To reconcile and/or analyse information in Excel as directed by the line manager.
  13. To be responsible for good housekeeping - processing, batching and filing of information.
  14. To assist the Finance Director in other Accounting tasks and matters as required,
  15. To remember that, due to the nature of this position, you will have access to highly confidential and sensitive information, to ensure that this information is treated appropriately and to ensure that it is not inadvertently disclosed by any means (including being overheard or overseen).
  16. To enforce and comply with all statutory legislation and policy i.e. Fire, Health & Safety and to attend any training as requested by the company and required by law.
