Compliance Engineer
Joining our client as a Compliance Engineer you will report to the Product Engineering Manager and will have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled team of both Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers. You will be responsible for supporting the regulatory compliance, surrounding the design and development of new products and solutions, for the ever-expanding client base.
You will have the opportunity to work in a team that designs solutions for industries including; Advanced Printing, Food and Transportation. Our applications are used in the activation of component materials, additive sintering, disinfection and glueing.
Your work will be focused on regulatory compliance and steering the design team towards Design for Manufacture and Design for Services. You will be defining the safety requirements surrounding our clients bespoke products including supporting the transfer of products from development through to being customer ready!
As an Engineer you will be given the freedom to use your theoretical and practical knowledge to carve a role for yourself given the autonomy to manage your own individual projects. You will be supported in your works as an Engineer but also given the freedom and opportunity to use your own initiative and shine in your own merit by bringing new ideas to the table. This position would be most suited to candidates who have extensive working knowledge of standard manufacturing and engineering processes, alongside being skilled in product development processes.

The role:
•Defining safety and regulatory requirements for the design & qualification of bespoke systems •Providing quality & compliance input to the design of new systems •Steering the design team towards DFM (Design for manufacture) and DFS (Design for Service)•Completing the design failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)•Writing risk assessments•Developing equipment manuals in accordance with the regulatory & safety standards •Developing processes and setting criteria for incoming inspections for systems •Developing the process and set the criteria for the incoming inspection for systems•Assist the product engineering manager with the Product Development Process•Support the transfer of products from development to manufacturing/customer ready, including documentation, design approval and compliance.
Contribute product design expertise to the team, with the following components:
•Product design input, including Low Voltage Directive compliance•Design input for EMC compliance, regulatory and safety requirements•Advise and be involved in functional schematic layout according to specification•Writing SOP's for designing and manufacturing new products
What we are looking for:
•Quality Management experience relating to electro-mechanical system builds.•A degree in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline is desirable but not essential •Experience working within a highly regulated environment•EMC testing experience •Machinery directive expertise (EN 60204)•Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the business•Project management experience and capability as well as excellent organisational and planning skills.•Extensive and demonstrable experience of standard manufacturing and engineering processes, as well as product development processes.
