Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Stevenage (and working across sites in other locations)
Salary: £17k - £18.5k
Hours: Full-Time
Duration: Permanent

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Stevenage area.

Starting from September, the college are looking for outstanding Engineering Technician to join the team and help facilitate the teaching and learning within the engineering department.

The Role:

• To ensure the maintenance of the workshops and equipment is up to the required standard and to assist in stock/tool control

• To ensure that the engineering area meets its obligations and improves Health and Safety

• You will be responsible for risk assessment and COSHH in designated areas

• Manage the stock control (this includes tools and equipment and materials in the area)

• Ensure that the workshops, tools, equipment and stores are clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times; communicate information required to the Head of Curriculum to ensure effective technician support for the area.

• Raise the orders of relevant materials and collect small items from local suppliers.

• Organise and prepare materials for engineering activities.

What you will need:

• Previous experience as a technician with in an engineering environment

• To be highly organised and have effective communication skills

• Knowledge of safeguarding and an awareness of Health and Safety best practice

• To be educated to level 2 or above in Engineering

• Proficient administration skills and attention to detail

• To be able to work across all group sites with a flexible approach to work
