Are you genuinely excited by the idea of joining a growing company, into a new position where you can "make it your own" and create the finance function as you see fit?

This is not your everyday Finance Manager role. Our client is a specialist services company based in Peterborough, who have, through gaining new contracts and becoming recognised as a supplier of choice to Blue Chip companies, have doubled in size in six months.

They have created this new post in reaction to their growth. You will have the opportunity to create new processes and procedures, and to develop the finance function to manage the increased business.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be managing a small team, the go to person overseeing the financial performance of the business as well as liaising with other Senior Management.

The role will be responsible for Operational and Commercial Finance, Management Accounting, Transactional Accounting (overseeing the team who produce this) and the reporting, data and analysis of the financial information.

Yours will be a hands-on role with the day to day financial operations of the companies with the Group, bringing outsourced finance operations in-house to increase control and visibility, develop accurate and consistent financial measures and KPI's and oversee the Group purchasing activities.

If you're looking for a role where you can sit back and oversee a team with no input, then this is not for you! This opportunity would suit someone who is keen to join a business and grow as they do, to truly make your mark and put your stamp on the department.

You will need to have an accountancy qualification with solid technical expertise, experience in working with other departmental heads, have either the skills or confidence to set up a finance department in a new environment, and ideally have managed a team.

Naturally you will have outstanding commercial acumen, with strategic business knowledge, able to instil confidence from senior stakeholders and your team, enthusiastic, committed and possess excellent interpersonal skills to develop and manage internal and external relationships.
