We are looking for passionate and committed Account Executives, who will initially work on the planning and launch of this new commercial insurance broking business working closely with the Sales Manager.

Main Purpose of the role:
  • To work as part of the commercial team in delivering against the department new business targets
  • To seek out new opportunities and develop new client relationships with a view to writing new business and further referral
  • To provide knowledge and expert advice to new and existing clients
  • To provide and maintain the highest levels of customer support and service
  • Be able to carry out the role in a professional manner

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility and ownership of your own clients
  • Database management of prospective and converted leads
  • Work with the Sales Manager and team to identify new business opportunities
  • Preparing and issuing of quotes and documentation to clients
  • Closing new business and overcoming objections and working to company new business targets
  • Creating new business presentations to be sent to insurers in order to secure quotations
  • Liaise with underwriters and insurers to negotiate, propose and recommend the most appropriate terms for clients (and insurers) at new business, renewal and for midterm adjustment
  • Prepare client meeting to understand their requirements then formulate the best solution (package) for their cover
  • Follow up calls generated from leads to book appointments for new business as required
  • To ensure that you operate within the published policies and procedures
  • Always include the cross selling of the companies portfolio of products where appropriate

Essential Skills
  • A good understanding of the commercial insurance industry, having worked across any of the following fields, healthcare, professional indemnity, liability, commercial or office combined, directors & officers or cyber liability
  • A proven track record of working within a sales environment and meeting set targets
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial insurance ancillary products, renewal practices, administration and insurer markets
  • Flexible and professional approach
  • An ability to deliver results to tight deadlines
  • Strength of character and a determination to succeed, even when things get tough!

Desirable Skills
  • Awareness of key markets, and trends within the commercial insurance sector and people of influence.
  • Previous experience of working in a small team

Hours of work

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
