ASD Teacher l Cheshire East

Celsian Education are working with a developing alternative education provider in the Cheshire East area in order to recruit dynamic Teachers due to an increase in pupil referrals. This unique role is to start as soon as possible and if successful will lead to a permanent contract.

Are you passionate about helping vulnerable young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Can you use your experience and knowledge of SEND to help students with Autism to display positive behaviour?

This growing specialist provision offers a bespoke education service with a holistic approach and caters for pupils who are unable to access mainstream education. Students have a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) including Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD); so you will need to have excellent behaviour management with a calm but firm approach. They are looking for creative and flexible Teachers with a positive attitude to work with young people across a range of activities and alternative lessons based outside of the classroom setting, with a focus on developing life skills and social skills within the community.

This ASD Teacher role would suit an NQT or experienced teacher looking for a new challenge. You will work closely with a Teaching Assistant and be responsible for creating a positive and safe learning environment for all young people. Driving is essential for this role.

To be successful in this ASD Teacher role you will need:
  • Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent.
  • Experience working with a range of SEND, specifically ASD
  • A positive attitude and flexible approach.
  • Strong behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
