Cloud Engineer / Consultant - Office 365 migration

Do you have an background in supporting major Infrastructure technology - around Office 365 and other Microsoft technologies? Do you have a broad technical skillset but looking to take a lead role in working on a major Transformation Programme, taking the lead on a migration of 2 companies into a single Microsoft Tenancy?

Do you have a strong background in Office 365 Migrations , Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business-and want to be the Lead Engineer for the project?

Cloud Engineer / Consultant - About the role:

The Lead Technical Engineer/ Analyst role will be office based in their Merseyside office, working as part of a small team, provide effective solutions to Office 365 technical issues, and provide a high level of technical expertise to the business.

As a Lead Technical Engineer you will lead on Infrastructure design and implementation to migrate legacy platforms to O365.

You will provide new technical solutions ensuring effective working across the full range of services provided by the business, and liaise with 3rd party suppliers, including the interface between the organisation and the Microsoft On-boarding services.

You will work in a fast-paced, challenging technical environment and be focal point for all Office 365 migration issues.

Cloud Engineer / Consultant - Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take the lead on Office 365 migration from legacy technology
  2. Take ownership of escalated issues within the O365 migration
  3. Resolution of configuration and deployment issues, ensuring management of core IT Infrastructure operations
  4. Ensure that 3rd party applications run efficiently across all platforms, provide root cause analysis to any problems
  5. Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other departmental members and suppliers.
  6. To take a proactive approach to ensure the needs of the business and its' users are being met by the Office 365 Migration Workstreams.
  7. Have an input in the O365 roadmap, impact assessments for the delivery of further O365 solutions
  8. Ensure the provision of a customer focused solution, and identify any related training needed for internal ICT staff

Cloud Engineer / Consultant - Essential Technical Skills:

Candidates must have some exposure to most of the technologies listed below:
  • Proven experience of migration of legacy technology to O365
  • Experience of EMS ( Intune & ARMS)
  • Ability to create PowerShell scripts
  • Technical understanding of the Enterprise E3/E5 product offering including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, Skype for Business, Yammer and Teams.
  • A high level of technical knowledge and experience across IT Infrastructure.

Candidates must have a strong technical Infrastructure background around O365 Migrations, coupled with a strong customer service ethos and passion for resolving queries to a high stand.

Candidates will have a broad technical skillset and be keen to look at learning new technologies including working with O365. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer role offers the chance to work with a broad set of technologies, teams, 3rd Party supplier and work closely with Microsoft Organisation.

THE ROLE IS INITIALLY OFFERED ON A 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT, but there may be an opportunity for a perm role after.
