Fraud Fee Earner - Motor Fraud & Fraud Rings - Bolton

Do you have a passion for Fraud? Are you a personal injury claims handler looking to make the move into Fraud?

Keoghs Bolton are seeking Fee Earners for both our Fraud Rings and Motor Fraud Departments.

The Fee Earner role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff in an open plan environment.

The Fraud Fee Earner will run a caseload of litigated cases on behalf of a cross section of insurance clients.

The role requires a forensic and analytical approach to dealing with evidence and attention to detail in addition to a high level of commercial awareness in relation to fixed fee work. The role requires liaison with the handler who dealt with the case pre lit (where possible) and working in close conjunction with the team leader and the supervisor (if applicable) in the team to achieve the best result possible on a profitable basis.

The caseload will consist of a range of suspected fraudulent insurance claims consisting of the following types of claim:

RTA - Bogus Passenger Claims
RTA - Staged/Contrived
RTA - Fraudulent Exaggeration
RTA - Inducted accidents
RTA - Low Speed Impact

Key Accountabilities

It will be the responsibility of the Fraud Fee Earner to run fraud cases from the point of litigation through to the resolution of the case.

Responsibilities in case management include:

• Detailed review and analysis of evidence throughout the life of the case
• Running files in accordance with agreed client guidelines
• Set and agree strategy on file, delegating tasks as appropriate to FEA to take forward
• Legal Research
• Liaising with the Underwriting Department at Insurers and Policy Interpretation
• Liaise with policy holders and witnesses as necessary
• Liaising with CRU (where applicable)
• Liaising with clients / other insurers / third parties
• Negotiate settlement (where applicable)
• Dealing with litigation - protecting the client's position in relation to proceedings
• Compliance with the court timetable
• Consider and utilise all procedural tactical advantages wherever possible
• Undertake advocacy where required
• Achieve the best result possible within the litigation
• Consider enforcement options on successful cases
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client and internal MI
• Be commercially aware in relation to the fixed fee
• Achieve both client and Keoghs' KPIs, objectives and financial targets
• Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management systems and billing
• Adherence to file management policies
• To ensure compliance with the Solicitors Conduct Rules

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Established career in civil litigation claims handling / as a legal fee earner or suitably qualified (ILEX, LPC etc)
• Experience of running an RTA Fraud litigated caseload
• An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes together with indemnity principles
• Proficient use of a case management system, MS Office suite and Outlook email.
• Knowledge of litigation process/working knowledge of CPR
• Good advocacy skills
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines on a delegated basis
• High level of analytical skills
• Experience of time recording and billing systems
