Salary: Excellent starting rate along with plenty of overtime opportunities which are paid at time and a half

Hours: 39 hours per week - there is also plenty of overtime opportunities during the week and weekends.

Due to a steady and sustained increase in business demands, we are currently recruiting for a Team Leader (production) for a manufacturing company based in Castle Bromwich.

Within this position you will be leading a team whilst remaining hands on working alongside the Production Operatives where you will be required to manage, develop and lead the team to achieve on time delivery in full without compromising on HSE and Quality.

The Production Operatives role within the team is a physical role that will see them working within a manufacturing process of metal plate forming. These require various manufacturing stages which are all very labour intensive and physically demanding whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

Duties will include:
  • Organising and satisfying the daily requirements of the team to meet On Time Delivery requirements.
  • Manage team; including performance management, resource planning in collaboration with other team leaders, monitoring and setting objectives through regular 1-1 meeting
  • Lead, train and develop the skill-set of the team to maintain a high level of product quality
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely
  • Provide support throughout the department ensuring a high level of all HSE requirements are met.
  • Maintaining a high level of 6S duties
  • Working hands on within the job role which may see you:

o Lifting and moving metal plates into various process operation points that can weigh up to 20kg each

o Measuring, taping and marking out of plates

o Quality checking throughout the process

o Loading the metal plates into the process machine and operating that process point of the manufacturing operation (this can include quality checks and the cleaning of materials)

For this role it is preferable if you:
  • Previous experience of leading a team within a production environment is essential
  • Previous experience within a process or production role in an Engineering / Manufacturing or Metal Industry.
  • Be able to undertake a physically demanding role which will involve constantly moving materials by hand that can weigh up to 20 kg.
  • Be flexible and able to undertake any additional hours or overtime as required to help the company meet production demands

This role will require a rotational 3 shift working pattern and full training to understand the processes within the facility will be provided.

Hours: Working 3 rotating shifts, Monday - Friday: 6.00am - 2.30pm / 2.00pm - 10.30pm / 10.00pm - 6.30am
