Job Purpose:
  • To provide electrical and mechanical engineering services to the site;
  • To ensure that the plant and equipment runs safely and efficiently at all times with the aim of minimising downtown;
  • To provide efficient and effective quality repairs of defects to our buildings on site, in accordance with the required standards;
  • The job holder will do all tasks within his/her level of skill and ability;

Provide efficient maintenance and electrical services within all areas of the plant
·Ensure machinery complies with all Health & Safety Regulations;
  • Regular maintenance of machinery;
  • Maintain spares stock, source and re-order when necessary;
  • Maintain all electrical supplies to machinery etc. ensuring the received item complies with all Health & Safety Regulations;
  • Keep store and work area in a clean and tidy order;
  • Attend any courses the Company feel necessary for the efficient running of the plant.

Provide efficient building maintenance and repair services within all areas of the plant
oEnsure buildings comply with all Health & Safety Regulations;
  • Regular maintenance of all aspects of the buildings;
  • Maintain building maintenance stock, source and re-order when necessary;
  • To deal with repairs where necessary as instructed by the Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, Operations Manager and Directors;
  • To deal with plumbing repairs and fixings;
  • Support with other ad hoc site or development based duties as and when required;
  • Fulfil and submit comprehensive, daily/weekly work sheets;
  • Keep a record of any reoccurring defects, ensuring the relevant parties (Management, subcontractors) are notified;

Install and commission new machinery and electrical supplies if and when necessary
·Ensure familiarity with new machinery;
  • Familiarise with computer attachments to new machinery;
  • Attend any training courses necessary in relation to new machinery requirements.

Communicate effectively with relevant personnel/departments
·Attend quality control meetings;
  • Liaise with Engineering Manager; Operations Manager and Shift Mangers on all aspects of job role;
  • Complete audit sheets for department and hand to Quality Assurance department daily.

Essential Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

Desirable Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

HND (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering;

Must have basic working knowledge of plumbing, painting, fitting, finishing and other general repair skills;

Previous experience with a bakery environment.

Fork Lift Truck Licence

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
