Our client, a well-established, very successful, leading online retail company are seeking a Trading Manager who will take responsibility for successfully managing the company's UK websites in order to achieve the budgeted sales and profit for the websites through effective trading and marketing activity.

Managing and developing a team, the role will focus on the commercial exposure/experience, leading and developing the acquisition, optimisation and retention strategies across all marketing channels. Analysing performance and ensuring the correct strategy and trading activity is in place to achieve ambitious growth and profitability targets.

Roles and responsibilities;
  • ·To be responsible for all trading activity in order to deliver the budgeted sales & profit for 2 of the Company's leading websites and to formulate the necessary trading activity required to achieve this
  • ·To manage and develop the acquisition, optimisation and retention strategies across the full mix of online marketing channels
  • ·To effectively manage a multimillion-pound marketing budget; ensuring the delivery of targets and achievement of objectives within budget. The post holder will ensure that all activity is delivered to the required quality standard
  • ·To analyse channel performance and ensure managers are adopting the correct strategy in order to deliver the required growth and profitability for the territory.
  • ·To ensure all online marketing activity and content reflects the brand positioning and proposition to drive brand awareness.
  • ·To review product category performance and opportunities in line with trading performance
  • ·Provide a modern approach to people management, demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence and delivering a management style suitable to the circumstance. To ensure all people management practices are in place (i.e. robust recruitment practices, performance reviews, objective setting, attendance monitoring, coaching and development etc)
  • ·To support and deputise for the Commercial Director as and when required. To take on any other responsibilities or tasks that are commensurate with the seniority of the post and are within the employee's range of skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed

What skills and experience will you need?...
  • ·Strong quantitative analysis skills within a trading environment, with the ability to make authoritative decisions
  • ·Google AdWords Google and Analytics
  • ·Ability to manage significant work demands to prioritise, manage expectations and deliver tangible outcomes
  • ·Experience of all Marketing channels, including PPC, SEO, Social, Marketplaces, Email and Affiliates
  • ·Experience and understanding of trading commercials such as pricing, margin, carriage etc and the impact that promotional activity has on such metrics
  • ·Experience of developing a brand across multiple online and offline channels, with a passion for brand development
  • ·Be able to manage and motivate a team
  • ·Be an excellent all-round communicator
