We have a rare opportunity at our office in Elstree, Hertfordshire for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our innovative and friendly engineering team.

What experience are we looking for?:

* We need an effective communicator, who makes commitments and delivers on promises.

* Knowledge of power, cable systems in the aerospace industry is highly advantageous

* It is essential that you are proficient in high voltage, high current systems, corona effects, and usage at high altitude

* Experience in EMC and signal integrity is advantageous.

* Knowledge of MIL-Spec and other Space/Defence/Aerospace/ industry specifications.

* Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis utilizing standard problem solving tools and methodologies.

* Understands material properties and the ability to undertake materials selection activities

What will a typical day involve?:

* You will be responsible for the development of high power interconnect systems for aerospace applications together with design engineering, with focus on shaping the high power development roadmap

* Support, contribute and promote a safe work environment.

* Correct interpretation of customer specifications and requirements enabling generation of technical proposals.

* Explores new technologies appropriate for continual development.

* Provide general technical assistance to the global operations teams, sub-contractors and suppliers and to the sales activity to win new business and support existing business.

* Develops technology and process know-how to ensure designs are technologically competitive.

* Participate and contribute to team training, development, mentoring and audits.
