With that in mind, an excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Accommodation Manager to join us in the Luton area. Within this role, you will be the face of Mears and will manage and oversee all of the operations of our Eaton Green and Rutland Hall hostels in Luton.

You will be responsible for leading a team to provide a high-quality service; ensuring outstanding customer service and maximizing our income. Through effective client management and excellent organisational skills, you will coordinate the functions essential to delivering a first-class service to our residents. This will include arranging a social event programme, ensuring repairs and maintenance are completed on time, ensuring cleaning is of the very highest standards and our out of office hours service maintains the exceptional standards required.

Other duties will include

Take individual responsibility for resolving service request/demands
Signing up new tenants / service users
Safeguarding adults and children
Develop partnership working with support agencies
Signpost and arrange support to vulnerable tenants S
Sustain tenancies
Signpost and help tenants to maximise income and to reduce rent arrears
Undertake formal action to recover arrears/bad debts
Maintain and update tenant profile data
Inspect internal/external communal areas of residential blocks Deal with tenancy breaches
Deal with queries and complaints

Hours of work are Mon-Friday 9-5.30pm

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have worked at least 2 years at a managerial level within a hospitality/property/student environment. You will have worked previously in a Housing or Property environment. With an understanding of a customer focused environment, you will have proven marketing and sales expertise coupled with strong financial acumen and experience of managing P & L accounts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also important along with strong IT skills.
