Role: Work Inspector

Salary: £30000 - £35000PA

Location: Derbyshire

Working hours: 38PW

Our client is highly respected in their industry for quality service and reliability with there custom designed technology for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Water Treatment, Chemical and Process Industries. They are a strong IP-led business, growing and changing quickly.

In the oil & gas sector we have industry leading technology for boosting production of Oil & Gas Wells and for flare gas recovery. There are strong drivers from both Oil & Gas Operators and from Governments to expand our Ejector technology further in these areas.

They now seek a talented Works Inspector to complement the Quality department. As both a designer and a manufacturer, the client has full control over process and mechanical design, supply of raw materials, manufacturing, scheduling and testing. With all procedures certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, accreditation to Module H of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and CE marking, where appropriate, the quality of the final product is assured. Transvac are also 1st Point Assessment and Achilles registered.

With a proactive approach, carry out in process visual & dimensional inspection of component parts, fit ups and final assemblies.

Responsibilities and requirements:

ü Ensure that both Client specifications and company procedures are being adhered to during manufacture.

ü Support the QA/QC/H&S Manager in the overall management of the QMS i.e. auditing & non-conformances.

ü Perform weld inspection, liquid penetrant & magnetic particle inspection to design Code, client and company requirements.

ü Perform inspections of surface preparations and final painting in accordance with approved standards and procedures

ü Produce accurate inspection reports which can be delivered to internal departments in a timely manner.

ü Act as the company authority in witnessing tests.

ü Maintain the calibration log. Arrange sub suppliers to calibrate equipment which falls outside our own capabilities.

ü Promote a positive right first-time culture.

ü Become an integral figure within the manufacturing team, ensuring that material traceability is maintained throughout the manufacturing window.

ü Occasional off-site visits to Clients and sub-suppliers premises for the purpose of audit and or inspections.

Required Skills

ü Proficient in the use of conventional measuring equipment such as. Vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges and rules.

ü Have a working knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001:2015

ü Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)

ü Capable of reading & understanding engineering drawings.

ü An understanding of manufacturing processes such as, machining & welding.

ü Previous experience in a similar role or environment.

ü Well organised with a methodical & professional approach.

Desirable skills

ü Have a knowledge, experience or qualification in NDT techniques (further training can be provided for the successful candidate)

ü Have a knowledge, experience or qualification in coatings inspection (further training can be provided for the successful candidate)
