Job Purpose:

The post holder will support the Senior Finance Manager in the efficient day to day functioning of the Finance Department, ensuring that Barndoc has in place sound and effective financial systems and services to enable the company to achieve its payroll objectives, and provide high quality financial services to its staff and customers.

Immediate start available for the right candidate, cover required at least to the end of March 2020.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the iTrac time and attendance system to ensure that all staff covered by the system are appropriately set up and daily exceptions are processed on an accurate and timely basis.

Preparation of the monthly Staff payroll input for salaried, sessional and zero hours staff to include calculations of overtime, holiday pay, sick pay and unpaid leave to then be processed by our external payroll bureau.

Preparation of monthly Doctors pay ensuring that all input is prepared on an accurate and timely basis and processed within tight deadlines.

Liaise with HR to process new starters, leavers, change of circumstances and personal details keeping Payroll records up to date.

Prepare the monthly Payroll costing reports from Rotamaster to prepare the monthly journals to be uploaded into SAGE.

Respond to enquiries from staff, doctors and payroll bureau arising from the monthly payroll process.

Improve and streamline the current controls and processes for the collection of monthly payroll data.

Provide cross cover during the absence of the Senior Assistant Accountant; accounts payable, petty cash, etc.

Other duties from time to time as delegated.

Person Specification:

The post holder should be a highly motivated individual with a good work ethic who pays particular attention to detail and has good strong communications skills. Applicants must have a degree of payroll and accounts experience and be able to evidence working in a range of Finance areas. We are looking for a candidate who has intermediate Excel skills e.g. Pivot tables. Sage 50 Accounts, Itrac and Rotamaster experience is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
