Excellent opportunity to for an experienced Plant Manager to join our clients organisation based in Aberdeen.

Suitable applicants will come from a Chemical/Process Engineering back ground and will have work at a Top Tier COMAH site.

You will report into European Supply Chain Director and will have 5 Direct Reports.

You will be responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including: HSE, production, quality control, maintenance, receiving, and shipping. Your responsibilities will also include recruiting, hiring and training personnel and driving team engagement. You will manage annual budget planning (capital and operational) and execution as well as facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvement. You will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation and partner with sales, quality, procurement and other support functions, to ensure great customer service, scrap minimalization and costs control.

Leadership Responsibilities will include:

Building an aspirational vision for your plant aligned to the Group strategy and reflecting your individual plant's compelling business needs (CBN).
Promoting excellence, respect, dignity, honesty and adherence to Company Code of Business Principles.
Maintaining effective and frequent communication with the plant associates, and being present regularly on the shop floor.
Representing the Company in your local community with the highest standards of professionalism.

Manage People by:

Analyzing workforce requirements
Coordinating the hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel to ensure associates have both the necessary skills and behavioural competencies to undertake both current and future roles.
Ensuring the annual PP&D process is in place.
Coaching and inspiring your team towards high performance.
Promoting teamwork and cross-functional team collaboration.

Mange Operations by:

Setting stretching but achievable productivity targets with a deliverable plan
Introducing / maintaining regular KPI monitoring mechanism i.e. DOM and weekly Operations meeting, reporting and acting upon.
Encouraging and promoting operating in a continuous improvement environment, engage associates in TPM to identify the root causes of all losses and eliminate them, improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Ensuring all plant & equipment is maintained in optimum condition.
Working with purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships.
Reviewing established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
Maintaining inventory levels and control flow of product.


Managing the annual budget and maintenance & repair budget within agreed limits,
Research ways and reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
Work closely with quality personnel. Review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.

Warrant, Health and Safety and Quality Compliance by ensuring:

Corporate, Global, Regional and Local specific HSE, Quality and Hygiene Standards and expectations are communicated to and rigorously enforced with associates, contractors & visitors
Audit findings are prioritized, followed through and remedial work undertaken to eliminate the risk in a timely manner

Minimum Education and Experience:

Degree in Chemical Engineering or with Chemistry Specialization; Process or Mechanical Engineering
Track record of progressive roles required - should have experience in both managerial and production positions
Must have experience in the handling of chemicals along with ISO & OHSAS certifications
Must have worked as a Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager or Production Supervisor in chemical environment.
