Due to strategic expansion, Goodwin PLC wish to appoint an experienced Internal Auditor with 5+ years experience in a manufacturing/engineering setting within SME /multi-site operations to undertake account reviews and provide audit support to a number of designated overseas subsidiary companies.

This 'new' role will primarily work out of Goodwin PLC main offices head-quartered in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

The Role:
  • Review and challenge monthly management accounts of assigned overseas subsidiaries through a combination of desktop review (i.e. from the UK) and conduct oversea visits.
  • Ensure every company follows the specified accounting policies and procedures as well as having strong systems of financial control and reporting which are efficient, effective and well-documented.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and regulations in the countries in which they operate.
  • Seek to continuously improve systems and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Group Internal Auditor and Group Chief Accountant, presenting high quality and timely information for decision-support.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with external auditors and subsidiary management.
  • Travel to overseas companies, typically 10 days stay overs with a minimum of 3 trips a year.

The Person:
  • Holder of a Professional Accountancy Qualification with at least 5 years post experience.
  • Possess demonstrable Audit Experience (either Internal or External).
  • Operated in multi-sited, manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing ERP/MRP systems.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and Word user.
  • Knowledge of Welcom accounting software (helpful).
  • Strong and resilient people skills (comfortable dealing with people at all levels of our business).
  • Familiar with system review and/or implementation.
