Abcam's largest product portfolio is OEM Primary Antibodies, was worth £96m in FY19. It is diverse with over 45k products from 294 suppliers, covering all Research Areas and Targets. This role requires a passionate, energetic scientist who can manage a diverse portfolio with multiple competing priorities while delivering growth.

About the role

The Product Manager, OEM Primary Antibodies will report directly to Senior Product Manager, OEM Primary Antibodies & Secondary Antibodies. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead growth through all channels and geographies. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Portfolio team, Research Areas, Consumer Insights, Digital Marketing, Procurement, Regional Marketing and Sales. This is an externally facing role and the successful candidate will interact with suppliers. They should be a driven self-starter with strong organizational skills and possess the necessary experience and know-how to direct and deliver agreed marketing plans.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Co-create and deliver an ambitious global strategy for development, positioning and growth of Abcam's OEM Primary Antibodies portfolio
  • Work with the Primary Antibody team, Research Areas team, Consumer Insights, marketing and sales teams to define and develop an effective plan to maximise commercial opportunities with Abcam's OEM supply network of suppliers
  • Ensure SEO, PPC, Marketing is optimised to drive traffic to Abcam's Public Website
  • Ensure that OEM Primary datasheets are of the highest quality and provide correct information that helps scientists make informed choices as to which products to select
  • Support the development of winning marketing campaigns for Primary Antibodies
  • Identify and deliver new product opportunities within Abcam's range
  • Manage suppliers to ensure they meet Abcam's quality standards and expectations

About you

Our ideal candidate will have practical knowledge of Primary Antibodies preferably gained through a PhD in life sciences along with significant experience in international sales, marketing and/or business development with Primary Antibodies. Experience of other product types would be beneficial.

You will be a strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to translate strategies in actionable plans and a strong team player able to build credibility at the senior level, and lead and motivate international cross function teams. Experience with customers or suppliers would be highly advantageous.
