Working for this well-established company who have a strong reputation in their industry, the part-time Payroll Assistant will be key to ensuring that, as a team, payroll functions are completed to a high standard of 100% accuracy and compliance. The Payroll Assistant role will deal with and take appropriate follow up action with all payroll queries, either by email or phone. The successful Payroll Assistant will be rewarded with an exceptional working environment, free parking, 25 days holiday (pro rata) plus Bank Holidays, company pension scheme and social events. The role is ideally working Wednesday to Friday, but the company will consider flexibility around this.

To apply for the Payroll Assistant role, you should possess experience working in a fast-paced payroll environment with a basic understanding of, and experience with, payroll calculations and tax procedures. The Payroll Assistant will have strong attention to detail and take pride in the standard of their work.Due to the rural location of the office, you should have you own transport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all timesheet information is inputted accurately and efficiently, in accordance with deadlines, to ensure that staff are paid correctly and on time each week
  • Maintain 100% accuracy with all payroll duties, avoiding overpayments, errors and issues
  • Ensure all client invoices are 100% accurate and completed within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure all payroll processes are completed in line with the FCSA code of conduct and submissions of payroll records to HMRC
  • Maintain the payroll processing system and ensure that all payroll spreadsheets, timesheets and records are stored appropriately
  • Competently deal with and take appropriate follow up action with all payroll queries in relation to tax, pension auto-enrolment, expenses, etc.
  • Ensure internal relationships between Payroll and other departments are fostered and nurtured to develop and maintain good working relationships

Essential Skills:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced payroll environment with a basic understanding of, and experience with, payroll calculations and tax procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and contractors regarding payroll queries over the phone and via email
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work well in a team, and provide support to colleagues to ensure that, as a team, payroll functions are completed to a high standard of 100% accuracy and compliance
