We are looking for a Legal Expenses specialist to manage legal expenses claims and provide specialist advice to personal policyholders on a wide range of everyday legal areas.

Working in a world-class claims management and handling service, the Legal Expenses Specialist will:

* Act as first point of contact for policy holders and provide advice on multiple areas of law

* Manage expectations, explain decisions and steps in the claims process

* Identify legal risks with each issue and explain potential solutions

* Complete investigations into the circumstances of the incident and the value of the claim

* Carry out legal research as required

* Negotiate settlement on the best possible terms

* Draft the necessary documents to issue court proceedings, comply with court directions, draft statements and ready the file for a final court hearing

* Assist with recoveries and manage relationships with external solicitors

* Create records for each activity and record in the in-house system

* Ensure good working relationships with all parties

* Provide input to the development of the business

The Legal Expenses Specialist will have a Legal Qualification including LPC and:

* A current practising certificate

* Be a Practicing solicitor specialising in civil litigation and consumer rights, liability, PI, and employment disputes

* Experience of case management and representation at court

* Comprehensive practical or academic knowledge of employment, property and consumer law (essential)

* Previous experience in a similar role or in a law firm (essential)

* Be a confident user of Microsoft Office products

Working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday (9am - 5:30pm), you'll receive a competitive basic salary circa £40,000pa negotiable depending on experience, plus a profit-performance related bonus, pension, 22 + 8 days holiday, free parking and other excellent benefits.
