Skilled Functional Skills Tutor, taking satisfaction from the opportunities successful completion of the Apprenticeship Programme can lead to? Looking for a new challenge, perhaps a change of setting, even a wider geography?

Uniquely positioned in the Training space, our client offers a blend of both business and workforce development (skills and employability) solutions across all industry sectors, and having successfully won a number of new contracts, seeks to add to its delivery team, with the addition of Functional Skills Tutors, across the following key locations; Cambridge, Essex, London, Northampton, and Essex.

Working with a blend of learners, including 16-19 years at GAP Centres, adults in the workplace with key clients, some may present challenges, therefore your delivery will be creative and engaging to ensure individuals achieve their aims in all subjects. Planning and teaching the Functional Skills curriculum, as well as differentiation, you'll ensure work is marked, records are kept, and assessment is on-going, ensuring all learners are ready for exams.

Day to day, you'll create effective schemes of works that clearly supports individuals, prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, design and deliver group activities, training to individuals and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement. You'll provide one to one support to learners, hold a manageable caseload, diagnose learner's literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements using various diagnostic testing and mock tests. You'll prepare and submit up to date assessments of , across all activities, maintaining records of progress, working alongside Quality Assurance to ensure delivery meets expectations.

So what do you need?

Qualified to PTLLS/ CTLLS (or equivalent), (DTTLS would be advantageous) you'll have GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at grade C or above, have full understanding of the Core Curriculum for FS English and Maths across all levels, having delivered high quality Functional Skills English and Maths across all levels

You'll understand fully the new FS Reforms being implemented in 2019, be able to plan robust lessons to match learning styles, and meet the needs of personal and social development.

Use and analysis of data from IA and Diagnostic tools such as Dynamic Learning, Forskills, BKSB would be preferred, as would e-Portfolio system such as OneFile, e-Track.

Personally, you'll have exceptional time management, organisational and communication skills, able to engage, influence and present to a diverse range of people at all levels, with an empathetic, non-judgmental and ethical approach.

Preferably, you'll have delivered to a wide range of client groups incl. young people, their families and communities, those who are from a variety of ethnic groups and cultures or who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged in some way, NEET, Apprentices, young people on Study Programmes and adults on Adult Learning Programmes

Some experience of Ofsted inspections, would be beneficial, having been involved in the inspection process and being able to demonstrate Good and Outstanding teaching practice.
