School Site Service officer needed 37 hours a week all year round

Your new school

Hays Education are looking for a school Site Services Officer to help ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the school. Your new school provides developing and delivering working practices and policies that are responsive to the needs of people changing throughout their working lives. They also provide an attractive reward and benefits package. The salary range is as follows depending on experience; £19,171 - £22,462.

Your new role

Your duties and responsibilities will include; on-site coordination, where you will ensure site security and safety during school open hours as well as liaising with contractors, site management, teaching and other support staff. Janitorial; reporting, carrying out and progressing repairs and other maintenance work. Handyperson duties; undertake minor building repairs and maintenance work, carpentry, plumbing and ensure adequate stoke of spare parts hardware and material. Cleaning Duties; assisting the school cleaning team, tidying of rooms, emptying of external bins and collection of recycling. Monitoring; carrying out internal and external school inspections, contractors safe working and satisfactory completion of contactors work. Any other duties; assist with emergency procedures, assist with general enquiries and any other site support duties.

What you'll need to succeed

You need to be able to follow the school's safeguarding procedures and recognise when to report any concerns, liaise and communicate effectively with other staff. An existing understanding of Health & Safety principles. Previous experience of working as a skilled or semi-skilled tradesperson. Knowledge and understanding of janitorial duties and maintenance tasks. DBS checks and safeguarding knowledge are essential to work in any of our Education Support Service based roles.
