REED Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be assisting our key client with a permanent and full-time role of Facilities Procurement Specialist based in Moor Row, Cumbria.

Our client are a Local Authority who employ around 1,500 staff members across their different UK sites. They can offer an outstanding benefits package as well as a responsible management position.

They are looking for someone who is experienced within Facilities Management but also Purchasing and Procurement processes.

The salary on offer is £30,000 - £45,000 DOE.

Duties will include;
  • Provide ongoing senior level, professionally qualified support to the Head of Procurement & Estates
  • The role will manage a small team and be responsible for a multi-million pound budget
  • Make important strategic and contractual decisions
  • Be the informed, subject matter expert who provides flexible, professional facilities support
  • Manage an effectively utilised training facility that provides an appropriate working and training environment
  • Manage expert acquisition of contracts for goods services and works to support plans
  • Manage contractors and contracts for goods, services and works
  • Drive the planned delivery of high quality and reliable facilities at a competitive cost
  • Negotiating alongside contract and change management
  • Support the regular business and financial planning cycle
  • Understand the running costs of the facility and project future running costs
  • Develop policies that lay out best practice principles
  • Reducing operating and capital costs through effective planning
  • Assess the resources, structure and budget necessary to sustain the facility

Person Specification;
  • You must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years
  • You must be a UK citizen or have a British passport
  • Facilities Management background
  • CIPS qualified or other relevant qualification desirable
  • Experience of developing successful strategies for the management of high asset value facilities and providing professional support to all stakeholders
  • Broad,senior level experience of commercial and public sector procurement and general business issues
  • Ability to understand and deal with procurement issues relevant to the Public Sector. This would include EU Procurement law
  • Experience of negotiating and managing contracts
