This is your role. What part will you play?
  • Ensure that the right quantity and quality of experienced resource is in place to deliver GP TS LTS projects.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Resource Planner to ensure that all resources are planned using the PM@Siemens work package process. Reviewing project plan in alignment with and awareness of external milestones and critical paths.
  • Responsible for all tendering hours within area of responsibility
  • Manage processes to ensure consistency of engineering solutions within the department and promote best practice sharing with other Engineering departments within the division.
  • Ensure that departmental key performance indicators are in place to monitor delivery to time, budget and quality.
  • To support the validation and factory acceptance testing of engineered SCADA solutions.
  • Liaise with external design companies ensuring technical compliance of engineering solutions.
  • Ensure as part of the process all design risks are identified and controlled and ensuring full compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • To put in place a formal mentoring process to enable the development of less experienced engineers.
  • Manage a training matrix to ensure that the most efficient and suitable training is provided for the whole department.
  • Manage the NCR system to monitor and minimise the amount of rework on projects.
  • Commitment to Siemens Think Customer initiative including excellent call handling and voice mail skills.
  • Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies.
  • Responsible for ensuring all team members work collaboratively with all engineering departments and project managers within Siemens ET.
  • Continuous reviewing of engineering processes and procedures to ensure improvements and recommend changes are applied and worked to.
  • To ensure Product and Solution Security @ Siemens requirements are followed within SCADA delivery team.
  • Conduct Staff Dialogues, Team Briefs and regular 1:2:1's with engineers within their area of responsibility.
  • Provide detailed monthly engineering reports, detailing Project Highlights, Risks, Issues, Progress and Resourcing.

What you need to make real what matters.
  • Professional managerial experience with typically 10 years of experience in the delivery of SCADA systems for Major Projects within the Transmission, Distribution and Renewable Industry.
  • Strong field testing and troubleshooting skills.
  • Sound understanding of electrical & communication system designs.
  • Sound knowledge of relational database systems. Preferably with design / administration skills in SQL Server and / or Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of open communication protocols; OPC, Modbus, DNP, etc.
  • Proven experience of leading the delivery of 4+ major projects.
  • Good standard of IT literacy - especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
