Position Summary

The Senior Business System Analyst's role is to provide generic IT support (primarily in SAP Order to Cash and SAP Project Systems area).The duties include business requirements gathering, working collaboratively with technical team members, coordinating User Acceptance Testing efforts and providing end user training.The role will also manage the project delivery within agreed timelines.

The job role is located in Burnley, UK and reports to the Global IT Manager located in Houston, Texas.

·Gather and document the business requirements with process maps and input and output specifications

·Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

·Work with the shared services team to determine the appropriate technical development required (mostly in SAP).

·Independently evaluate alternative solutions. Via business partnering approach, finalise agreements and document the recommended /solution.

·Document the required functionality, and the technical requirements of interfaces to other systems (SAP to non-SAP).

·Create test scenarios, perform systems testing and integration testing to ensure quality, functionality, and performance

·Plan, coordinate, and communicate the deployment of changes to the SAP production system.

·Create, review and deliver end-user documentation (user guides, process flow charts, training materials etc.).

·Perform related IT duties as required and assigned.

·Work closely with application support teams.

·Manage enhancements/projects in accordance with standard IT governance policies and procedures

·Serve as a Project Leader when required, providing coordination of resources; developing project plans, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of work performed by the project team.

·Provide IT support in SAP OTC area (break fixes and enhancements in the areas of Sales Orders, Delivery, Billing etc.).

·Provide IT support in SAP Project Systems area (break fixes and enhancements in the area of project builder, WBS, Results Analysis, Settlement Profiles, and Reporting).

Principal Accountabilities

·Good understanding of a variety of business processes in SAP including the type of IT support required for these processes.

·Be able to work directly with End User Business Community.

·Must be a self-starter. Must have the ability to work with little or no guidance. Must demonstrate initiative, complete tasks as assigned and work independently to remove obstacles.

·Ability to translate business needs into technical business requirements and specifications.

·MUST have experience with SAP tables, SAP batch jobs and variants.

·MUST have integration experience with SAP to non-SAP systems including data mapping).

·Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams.

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

·Ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete tasks to meet deadlines.

·Detailed experience with some kind IT support ticketing system.

·Change Control Methodology (SAP in particular) is preferred.

Skills & Experience

·Knowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills.

·3 to 5 years of relevant SAP experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Strong understanding of SAP Modules: Sales and Distribution and Project Systems.


·Undergraduate degree (Computer Science/Information Technology/Management Information Systems/Engineering/Logistics or Finance) with 5-years of relevant SAP experience.
Graduate degree (Computer Science/Information Technology/Management Information Systems/Engineering/Logistics or Finance) with 3-years of relevant SAP experience.
