LOCATION: Boldre, Lymington (commutable from Bournemouth, Southampton and surrounding towns)

JOB TITLE: Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager

SALARY & BENEFITS: salary circa £18,000 to £21,000 negotiable dependent on experience plus benefits including 8% pension contribution from the employer

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - 35 hours per week, negotiable - Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm - Term Time

THE COMPANY: Do you have a good understanding and knowledge of the requirements of Early Years Foundation Stage, Ofsted and Local Authority requirements as well as a minimum of an NVQ level 4 (or equivalent) in Childcare / Early Years?

Our client are setting up a new group of pre-school settings called 'Launchpad Early Years', committed to the highest standards of education with a broad Christian ethos and a connection with the local parish. Based in Boldre (commutable from Bournemouth, Southampton and surrounding towns) initially in a classroom at William Gilpin School, they now have a fantastic and exciting new opportunity for the right individual to join their team as the Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager and oversee the day to day running of this new service.

The Pre-School will offer the highest standards of care and play opportunities to children aged 2 to 5 years of age, (and also an the After Setting Club) and as a Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager you will be responsible for the overall day to day running of the pre school and will manage the provision of the Pre-school and After Setting Club, ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.

This is a wide and varied role where the successful candidate will take control of operational, marketing, staff and personnel management which will cover staff training and development, as well as financial control and ensure that set budgets are not exceeded.

Key Responsibilities for the Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager role include :-

- To manage the provision of the Pre-school and After Setting Club ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
- To manage day-to-day financial operations within the Pre-school by meeting financial targets and managing the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.
- To manage a staff team effectively
- To agree and set Pre-school goals and monitor the achievement of progress against target
- To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager role must have an Early Years / Childcare NVQ level 4 qualifications or equivalent, although a level 6 graduate with EYITT (Early Years Teacher) would be highly desirable. You will need to have experience working with children under 5 years of age and must have experience as a Deputy Manager, Manager or Senior Leader in an Early Years setting and will also need to have good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage. You will be familiar with Safeguarding, OFSTED and completing OFSTED evaluation documents as well as experience liaising with other agencies and governing bodies. In addition, it is essential that candidates understand the needs and rights of children under 5 years of age within the Pre-school and also 5 to 11 years within the After Setting Club and will be expected to build effective lasting relationships with children, whilst giving them a nurturing and stimulating environment to develop and flourish within!

Key Experience / Characteristics preferred for the Pre School Manager / Nursery Manager role :-

- Must have as a minimum an Early Years / Childcare NVQ level 4 qualifications or equivalent
- Previous Managerial / Deputy Managerial or Senior Supervisory experience in a Preschool or Early Years setting essential
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures, OFSTED and other governing bodies/regulations
- Do to needing to be able to organise travel within rural community with no public transport, candidates must be Drivers and live within commutable distance to Boldre, Lymington (commutable from Bournemouth, Southampton and surrounding towns)
- Although not essential level 6 graduate with EYITT (Early Years Teacher is highly desirable
