3rd Line IT Engineer (PLM)

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £55-65,000 + great benefits

Our Client is an iconic brand with seriously exciting opportunities to join their business in one of a number of roles within their growing IT department. We are seeking an exceptional 3rd Line IT Engineer (PLM) to join their IT team which will move the business into the next stage of growth. You will bring your expertise, from Aerospace, Automotive, Automotive 1st Tier suppliers, Precision Engineering or High-Tec manufacturing to shape and deliver an outstanding people agenda and deliver against a challenging set of KPI's for the business. The role:
  • Act as a technical lead, delivering reliable IT services to the wider business
  • Focus on and improve reliability, availability and security across the IT application and infrastructure landscape
  • Be a senior technical escalation point for IT support topics
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in a flexible way, particularly as we require out of hours support for maintenance changes and end user support on a rota basis
  • Step back and see the big picture, and get involved in a 'hands on way', using your strong, current and broad ranging technical background to guide your instinct
  • Be a strong point of escalation; seeing solutions that others can't, and crucially, be keen to do so as quickly and efficiently as possible so that we can achieve our collective goals
  • Project manage a number of key initiatives
  • Deliver quality without compromising performance
  • Knowledge share with your colleagues to develop both yourself and them

The person:
  • Degree educated
  • PLM application certification - support/administration level
  • CAx application certification - support/administration level
  • Project management methodology certification
  • ITIL foundation level

Be skilled at:
  • Problem solving - supporting in-house/bespoke applications
  • Planning, organising, leading and delivering complex, fast moving workloads to recognised methodologies i.e. (ITIL, Agile, ISO27001)
  • Maintaining, developing and leading all IT aspects of the following toolsets: CATIA, SIMULIA, 3DX, ENOVIA, MATLAB, FlexLM
  • Scripting, orchestration, automation, application deployment, testing and benchmarking techniques
  • Application and infrastructure capacity planning, performance and availability monitoring

Have experience of:
  • A broad operational role within a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Database support, administration and optimisation
  • Mechanical engineering design methodologies
  • UNIX, Linux and Windows Operating Systems
  • Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP)

Knowledge of:
  • Automotive or engineering background
  • Testbed and simulation platforms
  • Enterprise infrastructure, networking, storage and compute
  • High Performance Computing environments, including high performance workstations
