Nigel Wright are delighted to be representing one of Newcastle's largest businesses are seeking a Project Manager to work on a large Digital Transformation Project for an initial 12 month fixed term contract.

  • Direct and effective management of projects as required within time, cost and quality parameters.
  • Manage project team members as appropriate (either direct or matrix managed).
  • Contribute towards the delivery of the IT Services Programme/Project portfolio and co-ordinate project inter-dependencies.
  • To make a significant contribution to the aspects of the IT Services strategy.
  • To ensure the timely and accurate production of programme status reports for senior management.
  • Development and delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of work comprising of programmes, projects, technical requests and feasibility studies.
  • Client interaction, including developing a pipeline of work from the client, managing programmes/project priorities with the client.
  • Financial tracking and reporting, and project tracking and reporting.
  • Cross-activity relationship management.
  • The position will involve a considerable amount of interaction with colleagues, business groups, IT and external vendors.
  • To make a considerable contribution to the ongoing development of the IT Change Framework (structure, processes and controls)
  • Promoting the value of the Change Framework within the change community, and driving improvements based on experience gathered from business partners.
  • Maturing those disciplines across the organisation ensuring deliverance of a professional, high quality service.
  • Managing effective interfaces in order to maintain an end-to-end view of programme priorities and direction.
  • Feed into and updates a register of portfolio risks and issues, including mitigation plans. Ensuring that these are escalated and acted upon effectively.
  • Experience of managing stakeholders and debate, up to Director level.

Your skills:

Essential Requirements
  • Responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of IT Service projects within the programme portfolio to the required quality and standard.
  • The Project Manager will be responsible for management of the full project life cycle with a significant focus on change management and service modernisation.
  • The post requires close working with suppliers, clinicians, health professionals and patient forums to ensure anticipated benefits that IT enabling solutions can bring are fully realised.
  • Deputise for the Lead Project Manager as and when required.
  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent level of qualification or experience.
  • Hold a current recognised project management qualification, preferably PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent experience in project management techniques.
  • Have experience of managing multiple complex projects.
  • Have experience of managing a team, ideally management of project or service support teams.
  • Have experience of delivering change management projects.
  • Have experience of analysing and forecasting staff and budgets.
  • Have experience of inter-agency working involving multiple and diverse partners.
  • Have experience of supporting executive level Project Boards
  • Have a good understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Be competent with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable requirements
  • Experience of managing projects in complex organisations.
