Title: Junior Project Manager

Location: Plymouth

Contract type: Maternity Cover - Temporary on-going

Astra Recruitment are working with one of our long standing clients to recruit a Junior Project Manager.

Job duties will include:

Assisting the Project Manager in planning, executing and finalising projects in accordance to strict deadlines and within budget. This will include coordinating with project teams and key stakeholders, producing project requirements documents, communicating with third party suppliers and providing daily/weekly updates on project progress.

Strong administrative & communication skills will be required to assist with the smooth running of a project, scheduling and holding review meetings, communicating progress and issues with stakeholders and third parties.

The Junior Project Manager will run small to medium projects on his/her own from end to end with the support of the Project Manager.

You will be accountable for:
  • Attending project kick off meetings, and then producing the required project requirements document, for sign off by the stakeholders
  • Scheduling the timings of the project as well as a proposed start date
  • Managing the project from start to finish
  • Assistance with testing of changes and implementation of these into the live environment
  • Produce daily and/or weekly project updates
  • Maintain good working relationships with all areas of the business, based on project requirements
  • Monitor all project documentation for completeness and for version control
  • Co-ordinate schedules with team members and organise meetings as and when required
  • Attend meetings and take minutes and action points
  • Respond to queries from various sources in a timely manner regarding the project
  • Collection and analysis of project data
  • Oversee and keep a monitor on the contractual obligations and SLAs and be able to advise on these to team members
  • Act as a single point of contact for all assigned projects
  • Maintaining and ensuring an effective and efficient office environment

Your skills and experience will include:
  • Basic Project Management Skills (project leadership, planning, initiation, execution and control)
  • Organised with attention to detail
  • Customer service focussed
  • Ability to assist Project Manager and Project Team members
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite incl MS Project and MS Visio
  • Ability to host meetings and conference calls as required
  • Document Management Skills

  • Experience working with a range of projects as a project administrator/support or manager
  • Understanding of IT systems and project methodologies such as Agile and Prince2
  • Understanding of the Retail environment
