Based in Tyseley Birmingham, this company has over 30 years' experience in the manufacturing industry.

To aid the continuing growth of the company, they have identified the need to source a Head of Operations to join their existing dynamic team.

The Head of Operations will organise and oversee the daily operations of the company. You will ensure that Manufacturing, Assembly, Customer Services and Service & Training are well co-ordinated and productive by coaching the team and managing processes and procedures.

Role:
- Liaise with the Technical and Operations Director to make decisions for operational activities.
- Plan and monitor the day to day running of all operational activities to ensure smooth progress.
- Manage direct reports and provide coaching and feedback.
- Oversee customer services and ensure team are enhancing customer standards.
- Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organisational objective and apply improvements.
- Manage the procurement process and co-ordinate material and resource allocation.
- Review financial information and work with Operations and Technical Director to adjust budgets to promote profitability.
- Ensure a culture of Health and Safety, promoting good practice across the organisation.
- Conduct Monthly Check In's with direct reports, providing effective feedback, coaching and development.
- Run daily operational meetings to ensure effective communication across teams. Raise any concerns to senior management as appropriate.
- Ensure effective communication of change across teams, displaying a positive attitude and leading by example.
- Implement effective processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency at all times.
- Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations.
- Keep up to date with modern manufacturing techniques and technologies creating the business cases to implement new processes to increase productivity and profit margins.
- Introduce and maintain a Lean culture.
- Introduce and maintain robust forecasting and Stock control.

Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with a good standard of written and verbal English.
- Proven ability to drive change management initiatives.
- The ability to influence decision makers at all levels and negotiate through competing priorities to find common ground.
- The ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.

Experience
- At least 5 years Operational Management experience.
- A proven track record in managing and motivating a team.
- A proven track record of Lean Management/Manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of supply chain management.

Knowledge within the Health and Safety and Fire Safety field would be highly desirable.

Must have a full and clean driving licence
