SEN Maths Teacher Required for Special School for Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (BESD/SEBD)

Are you a qualified Maths Teacher with experience teaching in a PRU or SEN?

Are you a maths Teacher who enjoys working with small groups teaching KS3?

A qualified Maths Teacher is required for Alternative Provision in Nottinghamshire catering for 11-16 year olds.

The role is to start in September and will be covering maternity.

THE ALTERNATIVE PROVISION - Students at the provision have been excluded from school due to presenting with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The successful SEN maths teacher will be joining a dynamic teaching environment where all staff work together to ensure consistent behaviour management strategies across the provision Relationships between teachers and students are good, consequently attendance of the students is very high compared to similar provisions.

THE SEN MATHS TEACHER - We are looking for a confident KS3 and GCSE Maths teacher with the ability to use innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience of the pupils, with a view to either reintegrating them back into mainstream education or fulfilling their potential or to go on and gain good GCSE grade within the provision. As a Maths Teacher at the provision you will be teaching in classes of between 4 and 6 pupils. Ideally you should have previous experience working with emotional and behavioural difficulties with a special school or PRU/Alternative Provision, but a strong mainstream teacher will be considered.

The ideal candidate will have strong classroom presence and have a good career record in calming students that can present with challenges in the classroom. You should also be a keen team-player, as this is a vital attribute to fit in well with the staff team.
