(Graduate) Junior UI / Front End Developer

Manchester

A graduate level UI / Junior Front End Developer is needed to join a market leading technology business that serves over 3,000 customers globally. Working from their central Manchester office, you will join an expert R&D team of experienced developers, building new web applications using the latest technologies.

With offices in the UK, Europe, Middle East, North America and Australia, our client delivers powerful software solutions to natural history museums, cultural history museums, art museums, herbaria, botanic gardens and archives across the world. They are considered leaders in their field with their technology used by many of the largest and most prestigious museums and institutions in the world.

Joining a global team, you will help develop a first class code-base using React, Redux, Babel, ES6 and Flow to modern reusable and responsive components. On a day-to-day basis, expect to work with other highly skilled developers producing code according to agreed code style guidelines and in programming languages and frontend frameworks as directed. You will also produce unit tests and test plans as required. In short, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your experience implementing complete user interfaces in the form of mobile and desktop web apps and to develop a successful career as a UI / Front End Developer.

To qualify... You should be a Graduate Developer / Junior Developer / Front-End Developer / UI Developer / Web Developer / Javascript Developer / Web Designer or similar who can demonstrate:

  • You are educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline;
  • Some experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and writing cross-browser compatible code;
  • Experience in responsive design / development;
  • Experience and/or a keen interest in designing / wireframing / prototyping user interfaces;
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (W3C)
  • An ambition to develop a career as a UI / Front End Developer;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A desire to learn and develop new skills.
