Job Title: Technical Manager (Land)

Job Description:

Strategic are seeking a Technical Manager to join their Strategic Land team. The

successful candidate will be based at the group's head office in Surrey but must have the

flexibility to work closely with all divisions across the group's operating regions in the South-East of

England and the Midlands.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Prepare site budgets for technical work and consultant appointments.

Prepare technical due diligence reports for land acquisition that identify all site constraints and

presents innovative solutions.

Provide technical support to the planning team in preparing planning applications and attend pre-

applications meetings where necessary.

Provide technical support to the planning team in preparing representations to local plans.

Manage Consultant appointments in line with our policies.

Preparation of detailed cost estimates to assist land valuation appraisals.

Attend meetings with local councils, key stakeholders and design consultants.

Liaison with other Berkeley Group companies.

Technical Ability Demonstrate a good understanding of the NPPF, local plans and planning processes.

Demonstrate a good working knowledge and experience using technical standards and policy

relating to highways, transportation, flood risk, and utilities.

Ability to prepare design briefs for consultants.

Experience of negotiating consultant fees within prescribed site budgets.

Experience of input into and critical evaluation of S38, S278, S104 and other technical legal

agreements. In-depth knowledge and experience of using the latest building regulations, design standards and building products/techniques.

Ability to manage utility quotations and procure detailed studies to determine off-site

reinforcement of utility networks required to serve new residential developments.

Display strong leadership and have the ability to chair design team meetings and key stakeholder

meetings.

Ability to produce professional monthly technical reports for sharing with other Berkeley Group

divisions.

Qualifications, Experience and skills UK-Based Degree in Civil Engineeringor equivalent.

3-5 years' post-graduate experience at technical manager level or equivalent experience working

in a technical consultancy practice.

Excellent verbal, oral and written skills are essential.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.

Experience of using AutoCAD preferred.

Additional Information Full UK Driving Licence required.
