This newly established and rapidly expanding ambitious Engineering Services provider is now looking for an ambitious and career minded Engineering Project Manager to join their established team offering engineering services into the FMCG sector to both manufacturers and OEM suppliers. The role will be based in St Neots with some additional fully expensed local travel and offers an attractive package of £40- 50k for a 40 hour week plus Bonus (15%) + 25 days holiday + Stats + Pension up to 7% + expenses + remarkable career opportunities.

The Engineering Project Manager will be apprentice trained (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline and have extensive experience within automated warehousing and logistics and FMCG. You will provide support across the business managing capital investment and business improvement projects on behalf of clients from feasibility through to closure following a structured process to deliver the requirements on time and within budget.

Reporting to the Directors in this varied role, you will be responsible for providing support throughout this busy, vibrant business.


* Responsible for planning and managing projects to deliver the client's requirements on time and within budget

* Responsible for ensuring that all work meets the client's standards and complies with all relevant legislation

* Responsible for effective communication with the client and the Engineering team

* Responsible for developing mutually beneficial client and supplier relationships

* Utilise the company engineering project management methodology with effective review through each project to improve as necessary

* Responsible for the management of the design phases of the project to ensure the best solution is identified within the budget available

* Responsible for the management of the deployment phases of the project to ensure work is delivered on time and to the right standards

* Responsible for the safety management throughout the project to ensure requirements of relevant legislation are met

* Responsible for the management of suppliers and contractors on site

* Management of project engineers


The successful candidate will be a well organised, self-driven individual with a good work ethic and a desire to work in a busy working environment.

You will have the following:

* Safety knowledge and experience (Permit to work systems/Contractor management/Recognised safety qualification (preferred NEBOSH)/Risk assessment)

* Financial management & cost control (Knowledge of financial systems for raising purchase orders / Cost control spreadsheets)

* Project management knowledge and experience

* Experience of managing multi million pound projects

* Experience of end to end project management

* Effective management of contractor and suppliers

* Understanding of business improvement processes

* Experience of improvement tools and projects

* Logistics & warehousing experience - Ideally palletising and automated warehouse systems

* Strong leadership and people management skills

* Passionate and results oriented

* Flexible approach to work including location and hours

* This role may involve periods of time working away from home and some weekend working

The ideal candidate will also be;

* Apprentice trained (Or equivalent) within a relevant discipline

* Proficient in 2D Cad to produce layout drawings (3D CAD desirable)

* Results oriented

* Able to deal with change

* Experienced with automated warehousing systems with the FMCG sector
