The Role

This is a fantastic newly created opportunity for a suitably qualified Finance Manager - Product Pricing & Returns to join Aldermore's growing Business Finance team. You will lead on the development and implementation of the pricing and returns framework and provide high-quality support, insight and analysis on all aspects of product pricing and returns optimisation.

You will also act as the strategic financial lead on all aspects of the development and maintenance of the product pricing and returns framework across the Business Finance Division. The role will support the business in making product pricing decisions that optimise the Bank's returns as well as providing decision support to the wider Business Finance SLT, FD and MD

Key Accountabilities include

Lead on the development and maintenance of a best in class product pricing and returns framework, supporting and challenging the business to make returns optimising decisions that support the Bank's strategy
Providing proactive insight on balance sheet management and optimisation within the Business Finance function, supporting the Business Finance MD in delivering strategic plans and providing decision support
Ability to influence management into a course of action with the best financial outcome, often needing to present to and persuade large groups of senior non-finance managers, conveying financial concepts clearly and persuasively
Highlighting areas of key focus for discussion at senior leadership team meetings
Be the key liaison with commercial leads within the Business Finance division on regular and ad hoc pricing decisions
To be the lead financial input on new product pricing, product formulation and retention strategy, returns assessment and financial impact of business change programmes
Designing high-quality analysis of product pricing, competitive position, sales and business mix. Monitoring of emerging risks and trends in relation to products and pricing.
Embedding regular reporting of product returns and analytical feedback of pricing decisions and initiatives
Enhancement of financial analysis for pricing committee papers to support the development of new products and the review of existing products
Being responsible for implementation, reporting and tracking of risk based pricing across Business Finance
Co-ordinating financial modelling within the Finance team to support business initiatives in respect of product returns and profitability across the Business Finance division
Representing the Business Finance division on the Financial Returns Management (FRM) framework project
Becoming a subject matter expert in the FRM framework and ensuring the business is educated on its developments, implications and opportunities
Co-ordinate rate cards and rate card changes across Business Finance
Driving a culture of strong governance and controls around product pricing and returns management

Experience required

CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualification desirable but not essential
Financial Services industry experience is essential
Knowledge of financial products such as Asset Based Lending or Mortgages is highly beneficial
Able to influence and persuade stakeholders across all levels of seniority, including ExCo level
Confident, pro-active, self-starter with excellent communication skills
Strong analytical skills and experience of presenting findings
Experience in evaluating business performance in both a strategic and commercial context
Competent user of Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel skills (VBA experience desirable)
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Experience of embedding pricing and returns calculators desirable
Proven track record of delivering improvement and driving efficiencies
Excellent planning and organisational skills with a focus on delivery
Ability to create and develop MI dashboards
