Senior Tax Manager

Platinum are partnered with an entrepreneurial firm now looking to complete their final leadership hire of Senior Tax Manager with the guarantee of becoming Tax Director in the next 2 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and delivery of the firms' tax advisory assignments and assist in driving the growth of the tax advisory department.

Clients cover a wide range of industries and most of the projects relate to corporate taxes, but they also advise on all taxes including VAT, private client and employment taxes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Management of client engagements from initial scope to final delivery;
  • Drafting and finalising tax analysis reports and steps plans. Providing analysis and exposure to relevant taxes at each stage of the transaction;
  • Completing technical quality control for each engagement;
  • Management of junior team members including hiring new team members and training and development;
  • Working alongside clients and their professional advisors to assist in the completion of the transaction within the required timescales;
  • Ability to attract and develop new client relationships and identify tax risks/opportunities for our existing client base;
  • Progress and develop your own skills and knowledge in line with your agreed goals and objectives.

The role will be Monday to Friday completing 40 hours per week and the firm operates flexible working arrangements. The firm also operates a number of other benefits including an annual performance related bonus scheme and various bonus holiday schemes.

Profile of suitable applicant:
  • Experience working in corporate taxes including time in a senior position;
  • A strong understanding of all areas of corporate taxes including transaction and structuring engagements;
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of tax and tax legislation across the board;
  • High level of written and spoken communication skills particularly when articulating complex and technical tax issues to clients;
  • Being proactive in creating and developing client relationships;
  • Confident in dealing with clients at all levels either over the phone or face to face; and
  • Excellent time management skills and being able to deliver engagements under pressured to strict deadlines.
