The Entertainer is the largest family-owned toy retailer with over 165 stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online and international business. We have opened over 30 new UK stores in the past two years and we have ambitious plans for further growth. As part of the brands International growth strategy we have recently acquired the Spanish toy retailer Poly which has seen an addition of 55 shops to the retail estate in Spain. Most recently we completed the acquisition of the Early Learning Centre, which will see an addition of 400 shops internationally and 78 stores in the UK. This is an exciting time for the business as we look to integrate these companies and build the brands. We are now looking for an Events Executive to join the head office marketing team based in Little Chalfont, Amersham.

Reporting to the Events Coordinator and working closely with the rest of the Marketing team the Events Executive will support and deliver a program of event marketing activity for the brand and partners that builds the brand and drives sales performance, covering planning, advertising, promotion, event management and evaluation. The Events Executive role requires flexibility with this role and given store launch events this will mean some Saturday work, shift patterns to cover earlies and late shifts along with a willingness to travel across the UK. You may also have the opportunity to travel abroad occasionally for events taking place with partner brands.

Responsibilities - Events Executive

- Support the program of store events driving forward the Playground Club and implementing them.

- Support the new store opening program, deliver and attend the events.

- Work with suppliers on marketing initiatives to the benefit the brand & Partners such as New Product Launches, Tours, Character Visits.

- Design, production and delivery of pre-promotional advertising collateral whilst managing event supplies.

- Work closely with other departments, shopping centres, PR, Social and stores to ensure the event is maximised and effective.

- Post event analysis to ensure key learning's are captured and sales are reported.

- Brief and deliver the marketing material for all external events advertising ensuring it meets brand guidelines.

- To liaise and brief the Online Marketing, Social and PR team to promote events.

- Help establish and maintain relationships with shopping centres, in order to utilise their facilities for running and promoting events.

- Manage the costume character program; planning appearances, arranging delivery and cleaning of costume and reporting back sales.

- Work closely with the Partnership Manager to support partners on their events, offering support and guidance.

Required Skills - Events Executive

- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

- Practical knowledge of Adobe Suite would be an advantage although not essential

- Retail background gained in stores or head office is essential for the role

- High energy and passion for events with a really customer centric approach and empathy

- Clean UK driving license and access to vehicle is required for this position

- Experience in road managing costumes and being a costume character desirable although not essential.

As Events Executive with The Entertainer you will thrive in an autonomous role and will bring time management, organisational, planning and management skills with a logical and methodical approach to your work. You may have gained your previous experience as an Events Assistant, Events Marketing Executive or as a Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager from a retail stores led environment.
