We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Skipton Office, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to join a progressive firm that provides its clients with life-long consultancy and advisory services as well as regular compliance. This opportunity would suit a forward-thinking, experienced Accounts Assistant who is looking to use their skills and experience in a progressive environment, always seeking to learn and develop, reporting to one of our senior managers whilst having a high degree of autonomy over their work.

The Accounts Assistant Responsibilities:
You will be working within a team of accountant professionals providing first class customer service to a growing portfolio of clients. The duties & responsibilities you will undertake are:
  • Day to day servicing of a portfolio of SME businesses and their owners
  • Accounts Preparation
  • Production of monthly management accounts
  • Business Tax computations
  • Vat Returns and MTD
  • Payroll and bookkeeping when required
  • Providing assistance to clients with cloud accounting
  • Other ad-hoc projects and support for the Manager

  • Accounts Assistant experience of working in a busy Practice
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with an unwavering attention to detail
  • A positive, supportive attitude
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Working knowledge of IRIS practice software
  • Working knowledge of the major bookkeeping packages including Sage 50, Sage One, Xero & Quickbooks
  • Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Driving licence and the ability to travel to other offices and client premises
