OVERVIEW

Our client, an engineering/manufacturing business based in Hatfield is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the team. The purpose of the role is ensuring supplier adherence to agreed material specifications and inspection activities with the Operations environment by ensuring received product meets agreed specifications and supporting the development of a high-performance culture within the Operations environment by monitoring operational outputs to ensure that they meet agreed standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

* Prioritise and manage Inspection workloads to ensure Production effectiveness is maintained in accordance with Business and Quality requirements, with daily responsibilities including;

* Inspection of incoming material against drawing or alternative specification documents.

* Ensure Inspection cards and plans are current, in accordance with Business and Quality requirements, and recommend/implement changes as required.

* Support the monitoring, measurement, analysis and communication of data.

* Non-conforming material is identified and controlled in accordance with the Business procedures.

* Support Quality production Support role and activities as required.

* Support Company-wide Quality & CI activities to identify waste and deliver measured savings.

* Assist with Production inspections and audits, in accordance with Business and Quality requirements, to verify compliance with the Business procedures.

* Support Quality activities including, but not limited to; o Calibration of test equipment and tooling. o Control of non-conforming material. o ISO9001 accreditation. o CAPA.

* Support Goods-In receipt activities when required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

* Familiar with the role of an Inspector within a manufacturing environment.

* Familiar with general inspection techniques and their appropriate selection.

* Familiar with general non-conformance processes.

* Use of basic inspection, test and measuring equipment.

* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, including dimensioning and tolerancing.

* Knowledge of appropriate Health and Safety practices in the workplace.

* Good organisation and planning ability

* Accurately record information.

DESIRABLE:

* Engineering qualification or similar relevant experience.

* Working within an ISO 9001 environment.

* Experience within the Electronics industry.

* Managing non-conforming material.

* Epicor experience.

* Basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages.

* CMM experience.

* Six Sigma Yellow Belt
