Our client are an acknowledged world market leader in the development and manufacture of advanced Machine Tool Systems. In addition to providing machine tool turnkey solutions for the Aerospace and Industrial Gas turbine industries, they have an aerospace approved part manufacturing facility which utilises manufactured Machine Systems.

They are now seeking an experienced CNC machine operator to join their team in Shepshed

Role and Responsibilities:

* Operation of CNC machine tools to produce cooling holes and other features in various types of Gas Turbine components

* Responsible for inspection of completed operations using CMM, optical, manual and electronic, digital gauges and tooling.

* Complete manual and PC based production records and identify any non-conformance and record via the company software.

* Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.

* Complete daily preventative maintenance checks and raise any issues or areas of concern.

* Maintain machines in a running condition by changing consumables as required, i.e. cutters, grinding wheels and electrodes.

* Identify tool change/wheel dress and main programs and work safely between them.

* Maintain expected production levels to meet business requirements.

* Carry out other duties as required compatible with this role and the employee's individual skills at the direction of the supervisor/manager

Essential Skills/Requirements:

* Ability and desire to work in a team environment

* CNC Machine Tool experience essential using 4 and 5 axis equipment

* Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as micrometers and callipers

* Practical experience and understanding of Aero and / or Industrial Gas Turbine Component manufacture

* Demonstrable experience of at least one of the following processes;

* Viper Grinding

* Laser Drilling / Ablation

* Fast Hole EDM

* Airflow Inspection

* Die Sink EDM

* The ability to communicate effectively with others

* Strong PC skills / literacy

* An understanding of non-conventional machining processes, particularly Laser and EDM

* Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic

* Attention to Detail

* Good level of manual dexterity

Shifts:

12 hour Shifts - Days and Nights [6 until 6]

Continental Shift Pattern [4 'On' - 4 'Off
