Our client is an award-winning PR and Digital Agency that has skyrocketed in terms of growth since its inception in 2017. They are passionate, fun, energetic and fiercely loyal to their clients which they continue to attract in their droves from both B2B and B2C sectors. They now seek an additional Senior Client Executive to manage some of their new clients.

Overview of the Role

The role of senior client executive is to act as a key cog in the machine, using your initiative to make things happen and demonstrating best practice to junior team members. You need to have your finger on the pulse and bring a fresh approach and ideas to the table. You should be starting to think more strategically about media relations and be able to take the lead on projects and sell-ins.

Responsibilities

We have a full job description available for qualified and interested candidates but here is a summary the main areas of responsibility:

Processes/administration

* Overseeing client executives in efficiently monitoring and capturing client media cuttings

* Leading on scanning the news and overseeing the daily news round-up alerts

* Meeting deadlines set by your line manager

* Keeping accurate timesheets, ensuring they are completed at the end of every week

* Contributing to weekly team meeting with timely updates and proactive ideas

Media relations and social media

* Have a solid understanding of the UK/international media scene and regularly meet with relevant journalists to build relationships

* Contribute to media strategy, making suggestions on how to improve stories/angles

* Creating and managing media lists, keeping them up to date with new contacts and customising for specific sell-ins

* Delivering competent sell-ins of media stories to generate coverage for clients

* Checking Twitter, Factiva and Gorkana alerts daily, sharing with relevant team members and making recommendations for responses where possible

Creative writing

* Drafting PR materials such as press releases, comments, biographies, features etc.

* Delivering documents for proofing to your client manager or account lead by the agreed deadline

* Drafting social media copy, with the guidance of client manager or account lead

Strategic writing

* Drafting and maintaining up to date account documentation - agendas, contact reports, WIPs, coverage reports, scanned coverage, monitoring reports, weekly reports

Campaign development

* Actively contributing to agency brainstorms

* Point of contact for driving through campaigns

* Delivering activity which works and is measured and proven

* Being proactive and not waiting for instruction

Client management

* Develop and sustain relationship with clients

* Provide status updates in client and team meetings

* Implement daily telephone and written communication with clients

* Deep understanding of clients' businesses, being able to talk eloquently about their sector

* Display creativity in opportunities for clients, sell-in hooks and collaboration with third parties

Leadership

* Providing updates on actions in weekly team status meetings

* Fulfilling line management duties to relevant members of the junior team

New revenue

* Lead on research for new business proposals to ratify ideas

* Input into new business pitches, brainstorms and proposals

Experience and Skills

* Experience - Candidate to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Client Executive role - Preferably for an Agency but not essential

* Media Relations - Some experience of the Media scene

* Creative Writing - Good evidence of producing quality press releases, comments, biographies, features etc.

Passion - You should have a passion for Public Relations, media and building relationships
