Our client, a longstanding funding organisation with offices all over the UK, is looking for a Full Stack Web Developer to join their team based in either Newcastle, Birmingham, London, Cardiff or Belfast for a 6 month contract.

As Full Stack Web Developer, you'll be building and testing digital products to serve a variety of customers' and stakeholders' needs, using your technical knowledge and experience in problem solving.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Decide on appropriate core technologies such as databases, operating systems, programming languages and CMS's.
  • Develop a technical architecture working within the organisation and technical constraints.
  • Build a useful, robust automated test suite to support a continuous deployment environment.
  • Build strong networks in the wider web development community, identifying good practices.
  • Ensure that the digital systems you build are secure and robust against hacking and intrusions.
  • Deliver 2nd-line support of applications and platforms.

Skills & experience:
  • Experience building server-side web applications and detailed knowledge of at least one open source programming language.
  • Experience of front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS).
  • Experience designing robust systems and architecture within technical constraints & guidelines.
  • A strong ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Working knowledge of Unix-like operating systems such as Linux and/or Mac OS X, especially making cloud hosting services ready for production deployment.
  • Working knowledge of database systems.
  • System administration and configuration management skills.
  • Knowledge of the use of version control systems such as subversion or git.
  • Experience of analysing and selecting technical solutions and architecture to meet needs.
