Operations Manager required for a permanent position within an engineering service provider, this role will be based in Adlington.
Qualification requirements:
Must have some form of Mechanical and / or Electrical qualification. If electrically qualified, City & Guilds 17th / 18th Edition is essential.
Role overview:
Shift Manager in Adlington looking after one of the 4 shifts - 3 tradesmen per shift, mix of electrical and mechanical. Person will be the first point of contact from production for reactive work. Need to prioritise work with Production Managers, manage H&S, procure spares and 3rd party services if required and ensure work is completed timely, safely and to a high engineering standard. Need to be willing to work with his shift team on the tools.
Details of role:
Need to be technically competent. Electrical or Mechanical bias, but with a good knowledge of the other trade.
Good H&S knowledge in terms of Risk assessment, Permit to work, COSHH, confined space, working at height.
Good industrial knowledge, including services i.e. boilers and compressors.
Personal specification:
Need to have at least some supervisory experience. Need to be a leader, willing to take decisions under pressure and need to own the issue. Need to be able to motivate his team, deal with people issues and manage client interface. In terms of his shift, the buck stops with him.
Hours of work:
42.5 hours per week. 4 day shifts (6:00 to 18:00) followed by 4 days off followed by 4 night shifts (18:00 to 6:00) followed by 4 days off
