Experience with the Early Years Curriculum

Opportunity to work in 'Good' Nursery unit

A popular Primary school located in the heart of Burnley has approached Teaching Personnel in order to supply a Teaching Assistant to work within the school Nursery unit. The role will entail working in the EYFS Department alongside children aged 3-5 years old. The working hours will be from 9:00-15:30 and the pay will match the experience of the candidates. The role is to start from the 2nd of September and will continue indefinitely to cover a long term 'gap in staffing', which could potentially be indefinite. The school has projected that they will be 'over subscribed' due to the school receiving an overall 'Good' in their latest Ofsted inspection. The Nursery unit holds 62 pupils when it is at full capacity, which the school are expecting to have for September 2019.

The School is a top performing primary in East Lancashire and as a result, the standards for behaviour and academic progress are a priority. It is essential that when you apply for the role, you are able to give examples of when you have developed skills amongst younger children and differentiated the Curriculum to meet individual needs. The school is in a mixed catchment area with children from white British and Asian heritage cultures attending school. Some of the children speak Punjabi/Urdu/Pushto, due to this there can be an element of EAL. With this in mind, experience supporting children who have English as an additional language would be advantageous.

The school is located outside the town centre of Burnley and is commutable on public transport. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a 'good' school with a very supportive staff team that strive for the best for their children.
