Maternity Leave Contract (circa 9-10 months)

Circa £200 a day (negotiable above)

New opportunity for an experienced finance professional, with sound management accounting knowledge and capabilities, to join an established international organisation in the role of Management Accountant.

This role is a maternity leave cover contract as part of a 8 person finance team, reporting into the FC and FD. This person will be needed for a 9-10 month period and will be fully supported during this time, with guidance from the Financial Controller.

Overview of duties:
  • Produce the monthly management accounts to a deadline with details of variances to budget and prior year.
  • Meet regularly with department heads to agree month end results and post any adjustments required.
  • Analyse cost of sales, margins and cost per unit analysis
  • Responsible for the accruals and prepayments schedule and back up each month and explain any variances from prior period.
  • Work with budget holders and senior management on annual budget process.
  • All other balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets, debtors and creditors, salary control accounts, tax accounts and intercompany.
  • Work with the auditors for the year-end audit and prepare any deliverables and additional information as requested.
  • Prepare invoices for intercompany balances for settlement and transfer pricing.
  • Check stock reconciliation and balance sheet recs for stock balances.
  • Ad hoc tasks as necessary

Candidate requirements:
  • Qualified by experience, part or fully qualified all considered.
  • Solid experience in management accounting and reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Full commitment to seeing this contract through to completion!
