IT Trainer / Workplace Coach

LMPQ is an academy dedicated to providing high quality IT apprenticeships. We are looking to appoint a full time IT Trainer/Workplace Coach on a permanent basis to train Apprentices in the classroom and mentor them in the workplace to build their portfolios of evidence for competency against the Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Standards.

The Individual

·Experience within the Technical IT sector and/or experience as a trainer and/or assessor in relation to IT qualifications (essential)

·Experience of training and assessing and hold a PTTLS or teaching qualification in addition to assessing qualifications (desirable)

Job Description

·Delivering and assessing Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) units in the classroom as part of a Level 3 Apprenticeship

·Delivering and assessing Level 2 Workskills and introductory IT units as part of the LMPQ pre-Apprenticeship programme

·Accountability for ensuring learners meet the Gateway Requirements in a timely manner in line with EPA requirements

·Coaching in the workplace, providing guidance and training linked to the learners' job role and the Apprenticeship programme and supporting learners to compile their portfolios of evidence

·Reviewing learners' progress every 8 weeks, including update of ILP's as required

·Assessing the quality of learners' Work Based Evidence and portfolio work using a variety of assessment tools to support them with working towards PASS/MERIT/DISTINCTION levels

·Ensuring that all administrative requirements are followed so that the progress of each learner is readily available to colleagues, employers and learners

·Ensuring learners' outcomes are achieved on time

·Representing the business to employers and external agencies and being an ambassador for the brand

·Compliance with internal quality systems, processes and required timescales

·Responding promptly and efficiently to requests for internal and/or external audits

·Liaising with the Academy team to report, resolve and manage issues that may potentially affect retention rates on the programme

·Designing, producing and reviewing materials to support learners

·Supporting learners with Functional Skills needs where required

·Taking full responsibility for the quality of the learner journey

·Reporting to LMPQ's IT Curriculum Manager.
