The role sits within IT and reports to the Business Applications Manager
We have a vacancy for a Business Analyst to be responsible for the day to day management and continuous improvement of business applications and related processes within the Rico and TVS businesses. This is an incredibly varied role that will suit someone who wants to be hands on and involved in the full systems life cycle. Experience within logistics and or same day courier would be advantageous, but more important is a willingness to learn and a desire to take ownership and make a real difference to our business. We are a small team and flexibility is key.
Summary
•Responsible for configuring the system to function appropriately to support the business process•Responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date documentation and materials•Recognised across the organisation as a resource for resolving unique or complex application related issues.•Responsible for 2nd line support (will also include 1st line in small team structure)•Manage application change projects for the functional area, from analysis of requirements and specification through to testing and final implementation.•Manage activities around software release, working with the business to ensure no adverse impact of changes/patches•Manage rollout of applications into new business areas and/or divisions•Manage the day to day relationships with 3rd party application suppliers, including regular incident, problem and change reviews•Work with 3rd parties to ensure quality and timely delivery of developments that match specification•Work with infrastructure colleagues to ensure requirements for hardware & networking are met and maintained
Key Responsibilities
•Define, analyse and document business requirements for application and process change.•Assist the business with development of a business case to support their change requirements.•Participate in creation of project deliverables related to the system development.•Manage projects as required and approved by the IT Steering Committee.•Execute system configuration activities and create/maintain related documentation•Deliver application development requirements (reports, forms, outputs, enhancements, interfaces, upgrades, rollouts) working closely with business users and development teams.•Execute all activities for the process thread, including mapping and conversion, integration testing, interfaces and data•Identify issues and support resolution, managing incidents and problems through to resolution. Providing expert support to 1st line Support Analysts.•Develop sound understanding of business process, Software, Data and Configuration in order to provide on-going support in a live environment•Support Organisation and Change Management, security, training and communication efforts•Provide roll-out support and training where necessary•Provide required support of master data requests to Master Data team
Skills
•Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required•Minimum of one year's experience in application development•Basic understanding of SQL and structured databases•Project management/delivery•Excellent written and verbal communication (English)•Networking at all levels of an organisation and across countries & cultures•Good understanding of Same day/logistics processes ideal but not essential•Requirements gathering and process documentation
