Large Manufacturing Organisation based in Gateshead

Role
  • Recovery of outstanding debits in order to maintain debtor days within budget
  • Be the active link between external customers and internal departments to facilitate the resolution of customer disputes
  • Attend monthly credit control meetings to discuss and resolve customer disputes
  • Maintain regular contact with key customers to ensure debit notes are cleared and payments are released within the specified timescales
  • Daily allocation of cash on system
  • Review and maintain customer accounts to ensure no customers excess their agreed credit limits
  • Set up new accounts on system and run the relevant reports to assess the customers suitability for credit
  • Provide a weekly forecast of cash receipts to allow cash flow forecasts to be prepared
  • Provide support to the payables team as required
  • Support the Financial Controller with any other ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements
  • Previous credit control experience, particularly dealing with difficult customers
  • Computer literature with experience of Excel
  • Experience of using an ERP system
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in approach
