A new position has been created for an Applications Engineer to join my rapidly growing clients Engineering team based out of their newly purpose built premises in the Tonbridge area. The ideal applications engineer will have experience in the calibration and instrumentation sector and have experience with sales, technical support and customer training. You will be joining a growing team with plenty of opportunity for career growth. This It is a chance to be part of a team and work on exciting global projects that provide customers with advanced solutions to help improve quality and control in their respective industries.

The ideal Applications Engineer will have experience with the majority of skills listed below, live within a commutable distance of Tonbridge and be free to travel internationally when required.

• Multi-parameter calibration knowledge, primarily electrical, pressure, temperature.

• Electronics and service work.

• Electro-mechanical engineering.

• Computer maintenance.

• An understanding of software driven calibration, calibration management using software.

• Perform calibration training.

• Perform calibration system installations.

• Sales experience, maintaining a customer database and customer relations.

• Perform sales presentations.

• Technical support capabilities.

You will come from a technical background and should expect the role to involve:


The role will include working with UK and global customers, as well as maintaining and establishing international distribution channels. A technical understanding of calibration and metrology is needed to assess customer needs, and to provide technical and commercial proposals. Large scale project work is performed as part of a team to configure and design multi-purpose calibration systems and turnkey testing facilities.

Technical Support

The successful applicant will require the ability to provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support. A strong understanding of technical literature with the capability to write application and service documentation is needed.

Customer Training

Ongoing tasks will include performing product specific and generalised customer training in calibration methods, process control and electrical instrumentation. The ability to learn and understand software driven applications for testing purposes is necessary.
